So there is real irony in Ecuador's grant of diplomatic immunity to Assange.

I have no problem with Wikileaks, and I hope it keeps right on publishing. But Assange himself is an easy guy to dislike. His little press conference from the balcony of the Ecuadorian embassy in London last week (he was too timid to stand out front of the building, probably fearing arrest) was nauseating, especially when he lectured Barack Obama on his moral and political "obligations." Assange should deal with his own first, by returning to Sweden to answer those criminal charges (which may or may not be legitimate).

And how about Assange's Spanish attorney - Baltasar Garzón? He's a very arrogant guy himself, whose ethics lapses got him kicked off the bench for 11 years. Garzón has investigated everybody and their dog over the past decade or more, but he bitterly resisted when HE was called to account.

Assange and Garzón say they're going to the International Criminal Court if the British refuse to allow the former to leave England under a guarantee of safe passage. Maybe that Court will arrest both of THEM, for an investigation of its own.Edward V.
